Blinded veterans, their families, and a host of presenters, exhibitors, and other special guests commemorated BVA’s nearly seven decades of service at the Association’s 69th National Convention August 18-21 in Sparks, Nevada. They also celebrated the 91st birthday of a World War II blinded veteran and honored the achievements of distinguished members and regional groups. This issue of the Bulletin summarizes this year’s gathering.
Depicted at top, Mark Cornell presents Dr. George Stocking with plaque of appreciation. Bottom left, Jim Justesen enjoys birthday celebration he arranged for World War II veteran Ruth Klein, which included a cake, balloons, and an announcement at the President’s Reception. At bottom right, Charles Register offers acceptance remarks after receiving Irving Diener Award.
