Combined Federal Campaign

From Roy E. Young
National Fund Raising Chairman
Fellow BVA Members:

Our services are needed as much now as they have ever been needed in the past.

As our member ship continues to grow, we need to encourage everyone to participate in making federal employees aware that the BVA is part of the (CFC) Combined Federal Campaign.

The CFC is where a federal employee chooses or specifies a non-profit organization, such as the BVA, to make personal donations directly from their income to either a general fund of the CFC or, they can choose a specific organization such as the BVA by locating a five digit catalog number they can choose from. The BVA has its own catalog and identification number which is 10513.This individual making the donation can range from your postal/mail person, your VIST coordinator, your O&M Instructor, any military personnel or any federal employee.

Many of the medical centers and clinics have annual CFC Fairs in the fall where various organizations such as the BVA set up tables to discuss and promote their programs. This is a great opportunity for Regional Groups to make the Federal Employees aware of what the BVA does locally and to support our Advocacy Field Service programs and Operation Peer Support; Often these dates for the fairs can be obtained through your VIST or Volunteer Service Offices.

The US Postal Services have these same types of work shops where the information dates can usually be obtained from the Postal Distribution Center. This is great exposure for your Regional Groups in their communities. As an individual member it would be great to say “Thanks.” to your letter carrier and request that they go through the CFC and specify the BVA for their personal donations as well as asking them to remember the BVA for any visually impaired Veterans they know of on their route. Remember BLIND VETERANS HELPING BLIND VETERANS.

For any additional information or assistance such as a special thank you letter for those federal employees that you may already be aware of who donate to the BVA, please feel free to contact me at royyoung149@windstream.net or go to the BVA link directly.
