The Blinded Veterans Association (BVA) and Team BVA are excited to introduce a new way for our members to connect, share experiences, and explore literature: the BVA Book Club. Our inaugural selection is the powerful and inspiring biography, Caution, Blind Priest Driving: The Story of Fr. Thomas J. Carroll, Changing the Public’s Perception of Blindness.
Father Thomas J. Carroll was a trailblazing figure in the history of blindness rehabilitation, and his work has left a lasting impact on both the blind and sighted communities.
This biography not only covers the life and work of Father Carroll but also gives us a deeper look into how the man we honor annually at the National Convention during the Father Carroll Luncheon and Awards Ceremony changed the perception of blindness in society.
We invite all BVA members to join our discussion. The book is available for download through BARD, so be sure to grab your copy in advance of our next virtual meeting.
For more information on how to join the Book Club or to access Caution, Blind Priest Driving on BARD, please reach out to Anthony Woodson at (815) 348-0812. Let’s make this new Book Club a vibrant part of the BVA community!
