Kenneth Mitchell

Biography
Kenneth Mitchell is a decorated United States Army veteran who proudly served from February 1983 to August 1991. During his military career, he was stationed with the elite 18th Airborne Corps and 82nd Airborne Division, participating in several key campaigns, including Operation Urgent Fury, Operation Desert Shield, and Operation Desert Storm. For his exemplary service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Service Medal (Second Award), the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Army Achievement Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters.
Following his military service, Mr. Mitchell dedicated his career to advocacy and public service. He retired from a leadership role at a Center for Independent Living, where he represented and advocated for individuals across 12 counties surrounding Atlanta, Georgia. His commitment to disability rights and self-advocacy earned him numerous accolades, including the Governor’s Award for Self-Advocacy, the Fulton County Award for Public Service, and a Regional Advocacy Award from the National Council for Independent Living.
Mr. Mitchell has served in various leadership roles within peer-led organizations and was the Board Chair of Georgia State’s Community Leadership and Development Action Committee. He continues his commitment to civic engagement as a member of the Atlanta Unit of Parliamentarians.
Today, as the CEO of KMS Administrative Solutions, Kenneth Mitchell brings decades of leadership, advocacy, and service to his work—empowering communities through strategic support and organizational development.
