On October 14, BVA Happenings announced a Braille Flag presentation scheduled for later that day by the Heartland Regional Group at the Junction City, Kansas, Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, part of the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System.

The event came off without a hitch as Heartland Regional Group President Jeanie Murphy coordinated the presentation with Visual Impairment Services Team Coordinator Dawn Clouse. Also participating in the ceremony were Robert Murphy, national vice president of the BVA Auxiliary and Jeanie’s husband, and blinded veterans Steve Smith and Bob Morin. Jeanie was also assisted by Sandra Wood, Chaplain of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1786 (Manhattan, Kansas). The two are pictured together.
