Consider participating in “Carrying The Load” by walking a small piece of a 20,000-mile cross-country relay trek honoring the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military and interred in VA National Cemeteries. Along one of five routes, marches will carry signs, banners, and flags honoring a veteran, service member, or first responder.

The Carry the Load march, coordinated through a partnership with VA’s National Cemetery Administration (NCA) and the Travis Manion Foundation, will occur May 1-26, stopping at 18 VA national cemeteries and converging on Memorial Day, May 26, at Reverchon Park in Dallas, Texas, for a Memorial Day rally.

More than 200,00 participated in last year’s Carry the Load marches, which are open to anyone desiring to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed all in many instances. Along the five routes, marchers will carry signs, banners, and flags honoring a veteran, service member, or first responder.
