For serving as a fixture who stands out noticeably at BVA national conventions, adaptive sports events, airports, city streets, trains, hotels, and parking lots, BVA Ambassadog Donald will walk the red carpet at the American Humane Hero Dog Awards Gala in Palm Beach, Florida, coming up later this winter.

The constant dedication and love of this beautiful, brilliant, and intuitive yellow Labrador retriever toward his work, coupled with frequent heroic service to his handler, Army veteran and BVA member Teresa Galgano, have earned him top prize in the Service Dog category of the Society’s annual recognitions. The voting for the award began in early August and continued until September 15.

“Donald is not just a dog – he’s a symbol of hope, resilience, and the incredible bond between veterans and their service animals,” Teresa said at the time Donald became one of five finalists for the honor in late summer.”

Donald’s admirers have looked on as witnesses to the perfection with which he performs singular, monumental tasks. In turn, many such admirers enthusiastically converted their admiration into the casting of votes in support of this exemplary and most deserving BVA Ambassadog!
