The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic serves as a model of excellence internationally in its approach and methodology as a recreational rehabilitation program.

Blind and low vision veterans may now begin the application process to participate in the 40th National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass, Colorado (near Aspen), April 4-11. Although the application deadline is November 30, past participants from the BVA membership recommend completing and submitting the application materials as soon as possible.

A world leader in rehabilitation, the Winter Sports Clinic began with 90 participants in 1987 and now provides nearly 400 profoundly disabled Veterans with training and rehabilitation every year. It is one of the six VA events for which BVA members may apply for travel assistance under the Team BVA initiative.

In addition to visual impairments, veterans with TBIs, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and other severe disabilities are challenged to overcome perceived limitations through adaptive alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, sled hockey, scuba diving, rock wall climbing, fly fishing, curling, and snowmobiling.
