Tomorrow, December 14, is National Wreaths Across America Day. Join the more than two million volunteers and supporters who will gather to “Remember, Honor, and Teach” at more than 4,600 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad.

A nonprofit organization in its own right, Wreaths Across America has a short but storied history since its official beginning in 2007. Since then, its popularity has multiplied exponentially with the involvement of individuals and families, local and national youth nonprofit organizations, veterans’ organizations, small businesses, and corporations.

In December 2008, the U.S. Senate agreed to a resolution that designated December 13, 2008, as Wreaths Across America Day. Subsequent National Wreaths Across America Days have been designated on the second or third Saturday of December.

The mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom. BVA Happenings readers can participate in Wreaths Across America by sponsoring a wreath, volunteering or partnering with National Wreaths Across America Day, and by inviting their network of friends, family, co-workers, and organizations to help honor every veteran.

Find a registered cemetery, monument, veteran’s park, or other location where a Wreaths Across America event will occur.
