My name is Kent and I have been working with my veteran, Rob Sanchas from Rhode Island, since June of 2023. I refer to Rob as my dad, two-legged feeder, and my poop picker-upper.  I was born in Smithtown, New York, on October 20, 2021. I have lived in New York City, Georgia, and Boston during my puppy-raising time. I am the only one out of my litter to become a service dog. I am both a certified guide dog and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder dog. I was raised by America’s Vet Dog and the Guide Dog Foundation.

Some of my favorite activities are surfing, playing in deep snow, playing in water, watching my dad row from the coach’s boat, and playing with my crazy ball. I love meeting new people, especially tall people so that I can jump to look at them eye to eye.

My adventures with Dad have included kayaking, visits to different places, and waiting to steal my running medals. We are planning to fly to Berlin in September. I also attended the 2023 BVA Convention in St. Louis and am looking forward to guiding Dad at the July 2024 convention in Jacksonville!

If you are a BVA member and interested in having your dog featured in the Ambassadog Scoop Series, please send a message via email with your contact information, picture, and a brief introduction of one of my fellow guide dogs to bva@bva.org. I can’t wait for you to join the pack!
