Under the direction of the U.S. Association of Blind Athletes and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, the Men’s National Blind Soccer team has begun a virtual soccer combine for interested blind and visually impaired players. The team, to be fully organized in 2025, will prepare and eventually compete in the 18th Summer Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028. U.S. citizens of all ages and classified B1, B2, or B3 are invited to try out via the Combine. Goalkeepers can be B2 or B3 classified or fully sighted.

The Combine began on December 1 and runs until January 15, 2025. Tryouts consist of the production and submission of three videos in a file lasting no more than five total minutes. The videos should demonstrate specific soccer skills and drills explained via the link below.

Although Paralympic soccer has existed since 2012, the United States team has never qualified to participate in the games. By virtue of Los Angeles hosting the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics, the U.S. bid to compete is automatic under International Olympic Committee rules.
