BVA members from New Jersey, Illinois, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, North Carolina, and South Carolina will march in the 2024 New York City Veterans Day Parade that will occur on Veterans Day (Monday, November 11, 2024) from 12:30 to 3:30pm Eastern Time. Come and be a part of the largest Veterans Day parade in the country, a great way to get the word out about the Blinded Veterans Association while taking part in a low-impact recreational activity!

As part of the activity, a tour of the USS Intrepid Air and Space Museum is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, from 11:30am to 2:30pm.

Veterans participating in the parade must be able to walk 1.2 miles, the equivalent of 22 city blocks. Family members and BVA Auxiliary members are also encouraged to attend both events. There is no cost for participating in the parade. The USS Intrepid tour is also free for veterans and their sighted guide or caregivers.

For those who wish to spend a night or two in New York City, a small block of rooms has been secured ranging from $169 to $199, depending on the request for standard or suite, on Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn. Members are responsible for their own transportation to and from New York, lodging, and food. Interested parties should contact John O’Connell at joconnell@bva.org, or at (732) 300-5524.
