Warner L. Murray, New York Regional Group, often shares a poem or two with BVA National Headquarters that he has recently composed. The poems Warner sends almost invariably reflect his feelings and impressions about people, places, or events relating to the Blinded Veterans Association and are appropriate for publication in BVA Happenings and/or the BVA Bulletin.
BVA members who receive the CBRC Torch, the newsletter of the Central Blind Rehabilitation Center, learned this week that Warner’s poetry reach extends beyond BVA! His poem, THE CAT PROGRAM (Computer Access Technology), was published in the latest issue of the CBRC Torch. The poem praises the instructors and content of the program for its capacity to build self-confidence, teach new skills, and to think ahead, not behind, in accomplishing anything by the power of the mind.
“The Hines Rehabilitation program truly restored my confidence in life to deal with my blindness,” Warner commented as a postscript.
With permission from Warner and the CBRC, BVA Happenings will include the full poem in a future edition. It may also appear in the BVA Bulletin.
