The Veteran Usability Study is a great way to help VA improve the accessibility and usability of VA.gov and mobile applications such as VA Health and Benefits. The study is open to veterans, caregivers, and others familiar with how a veteran uses screen readers. Participants can receive a stipend ranging from $10 to $75 per study for participating. 

Because VA seeks to understand the unique needs of blind screen reader users and make relevant digital tools accessible and easy to use for everyone, BVA members who use screen readers are especially encouraged to sign up for the Veteran Usability Study. There will be several upcoming opportunities in October and November, specifically looking at veterans who use screen readers.

In a recent report from the Veteran Usability Study, more than 30 percent of veteran participants used a screen reader, magnifier, or other screen enhancement. This means that you are not alone in helping analysts incorporate feedback from the perspective of the blind and low vision.
