Shadow wearing his guide dog harnessThank you for having allowed me to share tidbits and “tails” during the month of August, National Dog Month. I have enjoyed sharing my adventures and advocacy efforts with my dad, National President Paul Mimms, serving as an example of independence, and collaborating with the Dog Handler Interest Group. Although my current tenure is over, I feel that my work is not yet done and I am looking forward to sharing more in the future.

I will now toss the frisbee to the September Ambassadog Rafa, who will be sharing stories and other scoop during the month of September. Rafa has the good fortune of serving as Ambassadog during National Guide Dog Month. This month-long celebration honors the work of guide dogs and the mobility and freedom we provide. To my fellow BVA Ambassadogs, please continue your honorable work providing companionship and safe navigation for your blind and low vision veterans. It is now time for my nap!

If you are a BVA member and interested in having your dog featured in the Ambassadog Scoop Series, please send a message via email with your contact information, picture, and a brief introduction of your dog to bva@bva.org.
