New technology aims to help Veterans with service-connected disabilities modify their specially adapted homes.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced the awarding of nearly $799,753 in Specially Adapted Housing Assistive Technology (SAHAT) grants of up to $200,000 per eligible individuals, researchers, or organizations to develop new assistive technology to enhance the ability of a Veteran or Servicemember to live in an adapted home. The SAHAT grants will allow outside entities, including non-profit and community organizations, to research and create innovative approaches for the development of assistive technology that are not currently available. VA looks forward to the work the awardees will develop to serve Veterans with disabilities.
