Paul Mimms was greeted at last year’s Congressional testimony by former Senator Elizabeth Dole, who spoke at the hearing in support of pending caregiver legislation.

BVA National President Paul Mimms will outline the Association’s current legislative priorities at a joint session of the House and Senate Committees on Veterans Affairs this Tuesday, February 25. The hearing will be streamed live via the website of the House Committee beginning at 10:00am Eastern Time, originating from Room 390 of the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill in the Nation’s Capital.

Please note that the hearing will consist of two separate panels, one entirely of representatives of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), which traditionally testifies first. Although the order of presentation at BVA Happenings press time was still not certain, the panel that includes President Mimms will likely begin at approximately 11:00am (Eastern Time). Organizations accompanying BVA at the witness table will be AMVETS, Vietnam Veterans of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Reserve Organization of America, Gold Star Wives of America, and Veterans Education Success.

In addition to the livestream, the hearing will be open to the public for in-person viewing for members and friends of BVA able to access Washington, DC. A detailed written document will also be submitted for the Congressional Record and uploaded in the near future to the Advocacy page at BVA.org.
