Please consider attending a VA Veterans Day Regional Activity near you this November 11. Earlier this year, VA and the Veterans Day National Committee (VDNC) invited cities, towns, and nonprofit groups across the country to join VA in showing appreciation for veterans by applying to hold VA-recognized regional Veterans Day observances that would ensure fitting tributes to America’s heroes.

In 2025, 56 communities across 28 states will host VA-recognized Veterans Day observances. Each regional site receives a supply of Veterans Day posters, military ceremonial support from the Department of War, and a certificate from the VA Secretary for inclusion in their event programs.

Sites were chosen based on their continuity, influence on the region, and community involvement. The following specific criteria below were used to evaluate applications:

  1. The event is dedicated solely to honoring the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces.
  2. The event is supported by, and open to participation by, Veterans Service Organization(s) that represent loyal service to the United States.
  3. The event is supported by city, county, town, or municipal authorities (as applicable).
  4. The event is not a fundraiser and is free and open to the public.
