Nora, a black dog, laying flat on her belly.

My name is Nora and I currently guide BVA member Sheldon McKinney in Rowlett, Texas. I have so many unique “tails” to share with you this month. I thought I would start at the beginning. I was born in December of 2019. From 7-12 weeks-old I was raised by three young women in off-campus housing. Midway through March 2020, my puppy raiser and I returned home when the pandemic struck. We stayed until June 2020 with my puppy raiser’s parents and two sisters. This allowed me to spend plenty of quality time with family and friends while my puppy raiser was completing college.

During my training, I had the opportunity to learn and navigate many different terrains. I was able to take the train into New York City, visit beaches and malls, movie theaters, parks, museums, and more.

I also met many furry friends, including cows, goats, and even a porcupine. I am always excited to meet new people, and I have a unique enthusiasm for life. The insatiable curiosity of a dog like me has always made me an adventurer. My dad, Sheldon, shares that I have improved his life immensely by providing independence, safety, and companionship. I will be sharing more about our experiences in the next edition. Until then, please check out our adventures on our very own YouTube channel here.

If you are a BVA member and interested in having your dog featured in the Ambassadog Scoop Series, please send a message via email to bva@bva.org.
