I have mentioned in previous BVA Happenings articles my affinity for stealing medals. Well, I did it again! My dad, Rob, and I participated in the 39th running of the Los Angeles Marathon on March 17. We set out on our course starting at Dodger Stadium and finishing on the Avenue of Stars in Century City. It was hotter than expected, but we persevered!

A special bow-wow shout out goes to our guides Mohammed and Jay. In addition, two paws up for the Achilles International-Connecticut Chapter for assisting my dad with his training while in rehab. He inspires his fellow blinded veterans, my fellow guide dogs, and me individually every day to cross the finish line in all that we do together. In our case, we earn our medals as a team, but I really like to wear them proudly as you can see in the adjacent photo. Always conquering and never conquered, I am always looking forward to our next adventure.

If you are a BVA member and interested in having your dog featured in the Ambassadog Scoop Series, please send a message via email with your contact information, picture, and a brief introduction of one of my fellow guide dogs to bva@bva.org. I can’t wait for you to join the pack!
