NSITE, an initiative of the National Industries for the Blind (NIB), is now accepting applications for its upcoming 40-week Cisco Academy, an innovative virtual training opportunity for talented individuals who are blind and interested in an IT career. The NSITE Cisco Academy provides not only the training but the necessary support to obtain employment opportunities with some of the leading industries in the country. The deadline to apply is March 1.

Key components of the Cisco Academy, adapted to the learning style of people who are blind or visually impaired, are training, professional certification, workplace preparation, and employment. The program provides foundational knowledge of a broad range of IT fundamentals, preparing participants to pass the Cisco Certified Network Associate exam and take their IT careers any direction they wish.

The virtual classroom meets twice per week from 6:00-9:00pm Eastern Time with students studying and completing lab assignments on their own time from the comfort of their own homes or other personal study locations.
