Please act now as quickly as possible to participate in the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic scheduled for April 1-7, 2024, in Snowmass, Colorado!

The world-class event, co-hosted by VA and Disabled American Veterans, is also supported by a host of private sector sponsors. Registration includes lodging, meals, and a variety of sports and recreation activities such as those enumerated below. Because a doctor must fill out a portion of the application and because demand for participation is so competitive and sought after, the importance of beginning the application process cannot be overemphasized.

In recent years, on average, some 80 or more legally blind veterans have been participating in the event.

“Challenged Athletes Foundation can assist you with travel to Colorado,” said BVA Director of Member Relations Teresa Galgano. “If you have not yet attended the Winter Sports Clinic, I encourage you to try something different this year!”

Learn more about participating in the Winter Sports Clinic through your Visual Impairment Services Team Coordinator and/or the event’s website here. Although the deadline to submit the extensive package of application materials is November 30, 2023, spaces often fill up quickly. The package is available online here but all applications and forms must be downloaded and sent via the U.S. Postal System to Teresa Parks, National Disabled Winter Sports Clinic, VAMC (WSC), 2121 North Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501, or by scanning and emailing the materials to Teresa.Parks@va.gov.
