BVA’s Town Hall this past Tuesday surpassed expectations for attendance and provided the impetus for many Association members to seek further information and/or register for the upcoming 78th National Convention August 14-18 in St. Louis. “My phone began ringing off the hook at the end of the meeting and it hasn’t stopped yet,” Convention Coordinator reported Wednesday morning. 

The first Town Hall, hosted via Zoom, provided attendees with an overview of the convention location and venue, the schedule of events and highlights, and first-time offerings. It also provided information about registration, hotel reservations, and offsite activities. A question-and-answer period brought clarifications and explanations for the scheduling of some activities and not others.

BVA’s next two Tuesday Town Hall Sessions, scheduled for June 20 and 27, will present proposed bylaw amendments and an opportunity to discuss them with the organization’s National Officers. A final session on July 11 will once again look at the overall content of the convention, similar to but with greater detail than the first session this past week. Many issues that were tentative this week may be finalized for the final Town Hall.
