BVA is pleased to announce the elections for Directors of Districts 2 and 4. As outlined in Article 6 of the BVA National Bylaws, these crucial roles represent the voices and needs of members residing in their respective districts. Nominations for the Directorships opened on February 1 (yesterday) and will close on March 1.

Who can run? 

  • Membership Matters: You must be a BVA member residing within the territorial boundaries of District 2 or District 4.
  • Passion and Commitment: You are passionate about advocating for blind and low vision veterans with a commitment to serve a three-year term in office.
  • Leadership Potential: You possess strong leadership skills and a vision for your district as part of the larger BVA community.

What are the key dates and steps? 

  • Nominations Open: February 1
  • Nominations Close: March 1
  • Candidate Requirements:
    • Submit a one-page biographical sketch for nomination by February 28
    • Participate in two virtual candidate town halls in April.

Why get involved? 

  • As District Director, you will:
    • Advocate for the interests of your district on the BVA National Board of Directors.
    • Foster communication and collaboration among members within your district.
    • Oversee BVA regional activities and events.
    • Help shape BVA’s future and its impact on blind and low vision veterans.
