Leaders of BVA regional groups and BVA members planning to attend the Association’s National Convention August 14-18, 2023, should refer to the full 2023 Official Convention Letter released and posted to the BVA website in early June.
The letter includes the fast-approaching convention deadlines for making final plans to attend, holding meetings, and submitting important documents. It also includes the convention’s official notice required by the National Bylaws, highlights of the five days in St. Louis, frequently asked questions, and links to additional information.
Special attention should now be given to three urgent deadlines included in the letter: first, the July 6 (next Thursday), deadline for regional groups to send notices to their members about pre-convention meetings to elect delegates: second, the July 21 deadline to both pre-register with BVA and make hotel reservations; and third, the July 25 ending date to send delegate credentials and proxy forms to BVA National Headquarters. Convention Coordinator Meredith Buono-Dagrossa continues to emphasize the availability of newly released information on the BVA website and online registration for the convention’s offsite activities, which have now been filled to near capacity. The BVA rate at the Marriott St. Louis Grand is $126 per night plus tax. Convention attendees should verify immediately that they have received the BVA rate and contact Meredith at mbuonodagrossa@bva.org with any encountered hotel problems or questions. Hotel parking costs $35 daily, including overnight. SP Parking, at 901 Lucas Avenue just two blocks from the hotel, offers parking for $10 per day.
