BVA’s VetTech Team welcomes Vispero’s Liz Whitaker, Product Manager, User Education and Outreach, to the March 8 Weekly Wednesday Webinar at 2:00pm Eastern Time. Whether you are checking on your Social Security Administration claim or trying to access your VA health information, federal websites require users to employ either the Login.gov or ID.me secure portals. 

Liz and the VetTech team will explore these portals and discuss solutions to overcome common barriers when using them. Do not miss this VetTech session! Participants will learn:

• Important Fusion and JAWS tools to navigate websites.
• How to successfully access and log into Login.gov and ID.me.
• Troubleshooting tips and tricks.

The regularly scheduled VetTech Talk on Thursday, March 9 at 2:00pm will review the previous day’s webinar and entertain follow-up questions. The specific focus will be “Lessons Learned from Vispero.” VetTech Talk is now held weekly on Thursdays at the same hour.

This past week, BVA’s VetTech team provided Weekly Wednesday Webinar attendees with an overview of Smart reading, specific commands for Smart reading, and helpful techniques for the Smart reading of menus and newspapers.  OrCam National Director of Sales for the United States Michelle Mendez led the discussion.  Thursday’s more open-ended VetTech Talk reviewed the previous day’s webinar and continued a previous discussion on the use of iOS devices with special attention on additional accessibility features of the iPhone and iPad.                                                                                                                           

All VetTech webinar and talk sessions are open to everyone—blind and low vision veterans, family members, caregivers, blind rehabilitation specialists, and all other parties interested in assistive, adaptive, and accessible technology that can empower independence.
