Join BVA’s VetTech Team this Wednesday, May 10, at 2:00pm Eastern Daylight Time as we welcome Liz Whitaker, Vispero’s Product Manager for User Education and Outreach. Liz will focus on the capabilities of Freedom Scientific products Fusion and JAWS in accessing Microsoft Teams. Administrative responsibilities or tasks that require the sharing of documents, collaboration on projects, the management of calendars, or participation in virtual meetings are greatly aided by use of Microsoft Teams software. Accessing the software can be a breeze when leveraging Fusion and JAWS.

Do not miss this VetTech session in which participants will learn:

  • How to use the Teams Calendar tab.
  • How to use Teams for meetings and calls.
  • How to use the Teams Chat tab and additional Teams tabs.

On Thursday, May 11, at the same 2:00pm hour, VetTech Talk will continue the conversation on Microsoft Teams across all platforms. The Teams solution is now nearing full implementation by both the BVA headquarters staff and throughout the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In BVA’s case, its use in FY 2023 will extend later from Zoom to all meetings and webinars. This is the first set of training opportunities to learn about Microsoft Teams, its features and benefits, and how to use it.

This past week, with a presentation from OrCam Sales Managers Josue Rivera and Corinne Nero, BVA’s VetTech Team focused during the Weekly Wednesday Webinar on the award-winning Artificial Intelligence capabilities of the OrCam MyEye as a powerful tool in recognizing individuals at family gatherings, meetings, conventions, and other public events.

All VetTech webinars and talk sessions are open to everyone—blind and low vision veterans, family members, caregivers, blind rehabilitation specialists, and all other parties interested in assistive, adaptive, and accessible technology that can empower independence.

Can’t make it to a live session? No problem! VetTech is now available as a podcast on major platforms. Interested parties can listen on demand to missed Weekly Wednesday Webinars as well as original content published solely on the podcast by asking their smart speaker, Siri or Alexa, to “play the latest episode of the Blinded Veterans Association VetTech podcast.” They can also follow the channel via Apple Podcast, Google Play, and Amazon Music.
