Join BVA’s VetTech Team this Wednesday, May 3, at 2:00pm Eastern Time as we welcome Josue Rivera and Corinne Nero, Area Sales Managers for OrCam. They will discuss the award-winning Artificial Intelligence capabilities of the OrCam MyEye Pro in recognizing individuals, making it a powerful tool at family gatherings, meetings, conventions, and other public events.

Do not miss this VetTech session, which will provide participants with:

  • An overview of how people recognition works.
  • Steps to teach the MyEye Pro to recognize people.
  • Steps to manage saved profiles.
  • Steps to use the voice commands in determining who is in one’s immediate surroundings.

On Thursday, May 4, at the same 2:00pm hour, VetTech Talk will explore the features and benefits of Microsoft Teams, the premier solution for team collaboration on documents and the scheduling of virtual meetings, online chats, and voice calls. The Teams solution is now nearing full implementation by both the BVA headquarters staff and the entire VA. Learning how to use the iOS Teams mobile application enables the user to bring cloud storage, office solutions, calendar programs, and meeting apps under one umbrella.

This past week, BVA’s VetTech Team focused on the use of state-of-the-art magnification technology. In the Weekly Wednesday Webinar, John Palmer, President and Founder of Patriot Vision Industries, discussed his company’s development of the only iOS Apple-certified magnification and reading combination in the world. He explained the system’s operation with cutting edge head-mounted digital magnifiers. Thursday’s VetTech Talk highlighted the tools and navigational elements of the MacOS Office Suite, the basis for document creation and communication across all Apple devices.

All VetTech webinars and talk sessions are open to everyone—blind and low vision veterans, family members, caregivers, blind rehabilitation specialists, and all other parties interested in assistive, adaptive, and accessible technology that can empower independence.

Can’t make it to a live session? No problem! VetTech is now available as a podcast on major platforms. Interested parties can listen on demand to missed Weekly Wednesday Webinars as well as original content published solely on the podcast by asking their smart speaker, Siri or Alexa, to “play the latest episode of the Blinded Veterans Association VetTech podcast.” They can also follow the channel through Apple Podcast, Google Play, and Amazon Music.
