Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs Chairman Jon Tester (D-MT) will participate as a bugler in a special Daily Taps performance at the National World War I Memorial in the Nation’s Capital this Monday, April 8, at 5:00pm Eastern Time. The U.S. World War I Centennial Commission and the Doughboy Foundation invited Senator Tester to accompany descendants of the nicknamed “U.S. Army Hello Girls” at the performance.
Senator Tester is an original co-sponsor of the legislation to award a Congressional Gold Medal to the World War I Hello Girls, the legendary female telephone operators of the War who patched through some 26 million calls using their budding telephone technology skills and fluency in the French language.
