BVA members and their families throughout the country are invited to join and participate in a free virtual symposium with the theme “Understanding the Unique Needs of Homeless Veterans.” The online event, available through the Webex platform, is scheduled for next Thursday, January 25, from 1:00-3:00pm Eastern Time. Interested parties can also join the meeting via mobile device and landline telephone.

The symposium’s purpose is to educate, inform, and empower veterans, service members, family members, caregivers, survivors, and advocates about valuable VA resources for homeless veterans. It will provide information on VA benefits, homeless services, vet centers, and the Sergeant First Class Health Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act. Guest speakers will share homeless veteran initiatives from VA’s Housing and Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program) and tips on engaging homeless veterans.

In addition to veterans nationwide, the symposium audience will consist of active-duty service members, individual veteran advocates, the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers (NACVSO), the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs (NASDVA), and concerned Veterans Service Organizations such as BVA.
