red, white, and blue star with initials B V A

For the 2023 Veterans Day Poster Contest, the Veterans Day National Committee of which BVA is a member called on professional and amateur artists late last year to create picture-perfect designs that reflect the theme of this year’s Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery. The theme “service” brought more than 60 entries ranging from school-aged children to graphic designers with decades of experience.

After all the ballots were tallied, the Committee selected a design named “The Bugler” by Gene Russell, a service-connected disabled Army Infantry veteran and VA employee, as the 2023 winning submission. The poster will be displayed in VA facilities, military installations, and municipal buildings across the country. It will also serve as the cover of the official program and lapel pin distributed at the November 11 commemoration at the Cemetery.

BVA National Headquarters has received a limited supply of the 11” X 17” printed posters to publicize and promote Veterans Day. To request a poster for a Veterans Day event in your area, please send an email to info@bva.org or call 202-371-8882. For a view of the poster and further information regarding its design, click here.
