Donald, a golden lab, looking straight at the camera. He is wearing his harness and has a little US flag-printed bow tie around his neck.

My tail is wagging with excitement about Waymo’s autonomous passenger cars. I provide a lot of independence and companionship for my mom as a working dog. We take trips to the grocery store, church, restaurants, and much more. Since my mom is a blinded veteran, I also accompany her on trips to VA, medical appointments, and even on airplanes.

Although I nap frequently, my paws still get tired. With the expansion of the Waymo One service territory in Metro Phoenix and now new permits to launch public service in San Franciso, in Los Angeles’ most popular neighborhoods, and in Austin, I can ride with my mom to even more places. These cars provide for expanded independence and travel safety. The best part is that my mom and I will never have to worry about denial of service for being a dog. Mom keeps yapping about a trip to Phoenix coming soon. Stay tuned for more “tails” of our adventures.

If you are a BVA member and interested in having your dog featured in the Ambassadog Scoop Series, please send a message via email with your contact information, picture, and a brief introduction of one of my fellow guide dogs to bva@bva.org. I can’t wait for you to join the pack!
