BVA members who have recently participated in the virtual monthly meetings of the Dog Handlers Committee have likely noted the increase in the number of attendees at the meetings during the past few months. Hoping to encourage even greater participation, Committee Chair Michaun Harrison has provided links to resource material for attendees to peruse prior to the upcoming meeting scheduled for this Tuesday, July 18, at 4:00pm Eastern Time.

Topics to be discussed during the next session include: 1) the benefits of co-sleeping with a dog if you have a sleep disorder, 2) the sleep pack mentality of all dogs, 3) how you know your dog loves you, and 4) how you know your dog is imprinted on you. For additional information on these subjects from two different sources suggested by Michaun, click here and here

All past, present, and future dog handlers among BVA’s blind and low vision veterans are encouraged to join next Tuesday’s meeting, open to all veterans with sight loss who are interested in topics and issues associated with guide dogs. Attendance at previous meetings is not required to join and participate.

Please share the meeting information and link with anyone with potential interest in attending. The sessions generally last approximately 90 minutes.
